The World Wide Web (WWW), commonly referred to as the Web, is an extensive network of linked documents and resources that is available. The Web, which was created in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee, changed communication, commerce, and information access by facilitating quicker and simpler connections with people and content around the globe.
A single piece of document stored in them is called a web page. A website is made up of all related pages. Websites are usually created by individuals, organizations, commercial organizations, or government departments. These files are stored on various server computers around the world. So information is extracted, used, and shared through the Internet and browsers.

Web pages are created primarily using a variety of standard mark-up languages. Example: HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language); SGML (Standard Generalized Mark-up Language); XML (extensible Mark-up Language), etc. Also, special scripting languages are used to create diverse websites. For example: Java Script, Perl, etc.
Mark-up language uses certain tags that help establish relationships between different parts of a web page. This relationship can be between different pages or files on the same system or between one or more files stored on another peripheral computer. This helps in extracting information by easily roaming from one page to another and thus the entire Internet. Among the mark-up languages, the most popular is HTML, which accommodates both hypertext and mark-up. Hypertext refers to the relationship between each word, line, image or part of a file, web page or any part of it with another part or any part in another file. The word markup means to give a desired shape to a file or web using something special. With the help of these tags, the search engine can retrieve the related document when the browser receives a search request.
Below is a basic web page draft using HTML tags:
<HTML> ;< HEAD>; <TITLE> ;< /HEAD>; <BODY>
This section describes the original documents and they can be published in any form. In this section, multimedia can be published from simple textual descriptions. Every HTML page starts with the <HTML> tag. Then the <HEAD> and <TITLE> tags. If any scripting language is to be added, it is mainly written inside the <HEAD> tag. However, in some cases, it can be written in the <BODY> part. The <TITLE> tag contains a title for the page or website. From which the browser can easily collect data to increase its speed.
Each tag must end with a </> symbol. Apart from these four main tags, several tags are used to present the web page in a variety of attractive and useful ways. Each web page is stored on the server as a separate file. And each file is saved by writing html or htm with a dot (.) symbol at the end. Apart from.html or.htm, web pages are stored in different file formats, like.xml,.asp,.jsp,.php, etc. depending on the language used and the requirement.
To access a website through a browser, it is important to first know its web address. This locational address on the website is called the Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
The URL has three parts.
1. Protocol
2. Host name
3. File name with file path
URL = protocol: //hostname/file path
Example: http://www .enlightenknowledge .com /about /order .html
As per above example:
1. Protocol=http
2. Host name: www .enlightenknowledge .com
3. File name: about; file path: order .html
Website Features:
A good and professional website or web page should have the following features:.
- The web page or site should clearly express its purpose.
- Why is site content organized?
- Fronts or letters should be easily visible and legible.
- Things should be presented in an orderly manner.
- It is better to keep large images in thumbnail form to reduce download time.
- It needs to increase its useful page to be able to download faster.
- It is better to avoid excessive, unnecessary images, dark colors, and ornaments. The website should have email and search service facility.
- Careful use of correct language, spelling and grammar is imperative. Links to related sites are required.
- The website should be regularly changed, amended and modified. Invalid and altered relationships should be eliminated and corrected by examining regular relationships.
- Website aesthetics and presentation should have artistic and aesthetic touches.
Website Issues:
Just as there are many informative and beautiful websites on the Internet, there are also many childish and boring, weird-looking web pages. Common problems with such websites are:
- Taking a long time to download;
- Lots of spelling mistakes, bad grammar and foul language
- Use of bold colors and fronts;
- Use of irrelevant and invalid links;
- excessive use of Flash, and Applet software and the display of excessive animations and advertisements;
- Apply additional links to get required pages;
- Pages with long scrolling;
- Lack of adequate quantity and quality of information;
- Irregular revisions and edits;
- Outdated information and services;
- Use additional frames
There are three main things to focus on to make a good website.
- The clear objective of website building: The various stages of building a good website are repeatedly tested and adjusted to provide the right amount of text, images, and other content used by the person. The user should trust that the page is well-educated and its information can be relied upon.
- Speed: The speed at which a page is downloaded depends on four factors. a) File Size: Larger files mean longer download times. So care should be taken not to make the page too large. b) Server Capacity: The download time depends on the capacity of the server where the files are hosted. c) Internet Traffic: The download speed depends on the Internet traffic when browsing the website. d) Download time depends on user computer memory, bandwidth, etc.
- Content planning and management: Content planning and management are the most powerful components of any website. Content design is the scientific and artistic technique of creating and communicating website messages to consumers. Content planning and management is the real strategy for creating, managing, distributing, publishing and capturing any topic.
A well-designed website guarantees a positive user experience by integrating user-friendly features seamlessly and addressing common problems like slow load times and poor navigation. Good design techniques not only improve functionality but also increase user satisfaction and engagement.
Hi there! I realize this is sort of off-topic but I needed to ask.
Does operating a well-established website such as yours require a large amount of work?
I’m completely new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal on a daily
basis. I’d like to start a blog so I can easily share my experience and
thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any ideas or tips
for new aspiring bloggers. Appreciate it!
Thanks for your compliments. I myself started my blog journey only 8 months ago. You have to pay both time and effort. But what the nation needs most is to keep the work going.thanks
I’m not positive where you’re getting your info, but great topic.
